  • Itinerary

Experience the beauty of the Ourika Valley up-close on this full-day scenic tour from Marrakech, and escape the hustle and bustle of the city for the day. The Ourika Valley is the closest day trip from Marrakech, but it’s not just its convenience that makes it special. Drive towards the Atlas Mountains, taking in the beautiful landscape of green meadows and authentic 16th and 17th-century Berber villages. If you take your tour on a Monday, you can even stop at a roadside souk. See fruit orchards, vegetable terraces, and villages clinging to the side of hills. Marvel at the labor undertaken by the Berbers who hoisted materials to construct small houses up mountain sides, and work the terraces in a hostile environment. Continue along the valley of palm trees, following the Ourika River. Fruit trees, tiny hamlets, riverside restaurants, and the summer homes of the wealthy will keep you occupied. Go to Setti Fatma to feel the refreshing waters of the 7 waterfalls. Feel the spray on your face as you cool down from the African heat, along with the locals of Marrakech who have made it their favorite weekend retreat.

Those taking this tour need to have a good level of fitness. The terrain is rocky and the track is steep. There are small bridges without handrails to cross parts of the river as you get higher up. It's about an hour of hard walking. The bus driver and guides were very good, the scenery was stunning and the weather was beautiful. An enjoyable day.

I had to contact the travel agent to confirm pick up time because they didn't send email with this info. The driver and actual tour gide were brilliant. Well looking after the group especially in the mountains. The track we went up in the mountains quite rough and lots of stones and small waterfalls but they were helping each person to get on and not fall. Suitable walking shoes or good trainers essential. Amazing views and good 4h walk there and back once in the valley to go up to the mountains. On the top beautiful waterfall. Don't underestimate yourself if you can do it! You will make it and they will look after you to make sure you get there and back safe. My group was 5 people and they were more they were mid age not so fit but they managed. Enjoy your trip

When I think of all the people I met in my week stay in Marrakech, the 2 locals who stood out and impressed me the most were Abdulhaq and Mohammed. I would highly recommend doing this activity with these 2 loving people
